WKCR DJ : “Classical” music show, Every Monday Morning
I host the weekly Cereal Music (morning classical) show on WKCR, every monday from 9:30am-12noon. You can hear it in the NYC tri-state area at 89.9fm, or you can stream it online at WKCR.org, or at WKCR HD1.
WKCR was the world’s first FM radio station, beginning in 1933 out of a dorm room at Columbia University. It was the first radio station to broadcast Thelonious Monk (live from Minton’s Playhouse), as well as one of the first stations in the country to play Salsa music, as well as hip-hop. It was home to the legendary Phil Schaap for 50+ years, and it is an honor to be part of this station’s history and legacy.
